Shareholders Mark O. Symonds Mark graduated from Linfield College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He co-founded Symonds, Evans & Company, P.C. in 1991 after working 12 years for the Portland, Oregon office of Ernst & Young (E&Y). At E&Y, he served as Director of Recruiting, the in-house quality review coordinator, and the Assistant Director of Accounting and Auditing. Mark also served as a national and local staff school instructor for audit staff and client training seminars. His professional experience includes serving many different client sectors, with a special emphasis in the financial services, construction, forest products, healthcare, and high technology industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), and the Oregon Bankers Association (OBA). Mark has been an instructor on bank accounting and auditing matters at the annual OBA Director's College and for the accounting and auditing session of the FDIC West Coast Training Conference for bank examiners. Steven A. Evans Steve graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He co-founded Symonds, Evans & Company in 1991 after working 11 years for the Portland, Oregon office of E&Y. At E&Y, Steve was team leader in the Healthcare Audit Practice and Litigation Support areas, as well as Director of Recruiting. His professional experience includes serving many different client sectors, with a special emphasis in healthcare. Steve is a member of the AICPA and the OSCPA, and is a licensed municipal auditor. Over the years, Steve has served as chairman of the Healthcare and Joint CPA/Attorney Committees of the OSCPA, board member of the Oregon Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and member of the Peer Review Committee of the OSCPA. He recently completed a three-year term as President of the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Health Clinics, Inc. and is currently Treasurer for the Blue Heron Neighborhood Association. Wesley B. Hansen Wes graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting. He joined Symonds, Evans & Company, P.C. in 2000. Wes has over 13 years of experience in public and private accounting, including 5 years with the Portland, Oregon office of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). At PWC, he advanced to in-charge manager of the Business Tax Reporting Group and was a member of the Middle Market Advisory Services Group. Prior to joining PWC, he served healthcare, middle market, and small business clients for a CPA firm based in San Francisco. His professional experience consists of providing business consulting and tax services to middle market and small business clients in a variety of areas including financial services, healthcare, and corporate, partnership, and individual taxation. Wes is a member of the AICPA.
